About this course

Getting a model to answer a question on your laptop takes an afternoon. Getting the same capability to run inside a corporate virtual network, over half a million internal documents, with no public endpoint, citations an auditor accepts and a cost per query finance has signed off, is a different job. This course is about that second job.

Who this is for

It starts from working Python and an understanding of REST APIs, and assumes no Azure and no machine learning background. The opening modules build the Azure foundation an AI workload needs — resource groups, storage, Key Vault, managed identity, infrastructure as code — before a single model is called. By the final module you are designing multi-tenant retrieval systems, tuning search recall against a labelled set and defending a governance pack. That arc is deliberate: a beginner has somewhere to start, and an engineer with three or four years behind them still meets new material from the search and evaluation modules onward.

What you will actually build

  • Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search reachable only through private endpoints, with a demonstration that public access fails
  • An ingestion and indexing pipeline with change detection, incremental upserts and deletions over a live corpus
  • Hybrid retrieval combining keyword and vector search with reciprocal rank fusion and semantic ranking, measured against a labelled query set
  • Grounded generation with citations, honest refusal when the corpus does not support an answer, and per-tenant isolation with leakage testing
  • An agent layer with scoped tools, step budgets and approval gates before any destructive action
  • A Prompt Flow pipeline with variants, batch evaluation and deployment to a managed online endpoint
  • A hundred-case evaluation suite scoring groundedness, relevance and retrieval recall, running in a pipeline and able to block a release
  • Content safety configuration, monitoring dashboards, audit logging with PII redaction and a costed governance pack

The parts most courses skip

Four modules exist because their absence is what stops projects reaching production. Security and networking, because a system that cannot pass a review never ships. Evaluation, because without numbers every prompt change is a guess and every regression is found by a customer. Cost control, because a system nobody can afford gets switched off. Governance, because the questions a compliance reviewer asks are predictable and answerable if you planned for them.

We are also direct about where generative AI is the wrong tool. One module compares the prebuilt Document Intelligence, Vision and Language services against a language model on accuracy, latency, determinism and cost — and often the prebuilt service wins. Knowing that is worth more than another prompting technique. If the retrieval and tuning trade-off is new to you, our explainer on RAG and fine-tuning covers the ground the course builds on, and vector embeddings explained is a useful primer before the search modules.

How it runs

Classes are fully online, in live IST cohorts, taught by engineers who build these systems rather than present about them. Every session is recorded and published to the LMS the same day, and you keep access afterwards. We teach learners across Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Delhi NCR and the rest of India, and anywhere else the timezone works — there is no centre to travel to, which is why the people teaching are practitioners rather than whoever lives near a building.

Every module ends in a deliverable written like a ticket a team lead would assign, and the capstone is a complete platform you can walk an interviewer through. Certification preparation, including timed scenario practice, is part of the final module; the exam itself is booked and paid for directly with Microsoft.

Where this sits among our other courses

If you have no Azure background at all and want the platform before the AI, start with Azure Cloud. For the broader associate-level Azure AI path, see Azure AI-102 Certification Training. If you want generative AI engineering that is not tied to one cloud — open models, serving with vLLM, fine-tuning and LLMOps — that is the Generative AI and Agentic AI Engineer Program. And if your interest is the wider platform architecture rather than the AI layer, Azure Solutions Architect AZ-305 is the companion course.

Module 1

You can map a business problem onto the right Azure AI service and say when the answer is not AI at all.

  1. The Azure AI service map1 hr
    • Azure OpenAI
    • Azure AI Search
    • AI Foundry and AI Studio
    • Document Intelligence
    • Speech and Vision
  2. Build, buy or prompt: choosing an approach1 hr
    • prebuilt APIs
    • custom models
    • prompting
    • fine-tuning
    • when not to use AI
  3. Responsible AI principles in practice1 hr
    • fairness
    • reliability and safety
    • privacy and security
    • inclusiveness
    • transparency and accountability
  4. Cost model of AI workloads1 hr
    • token pricing
    • PTU vs pay-as-you-go
    • search unit costs
    • storage and egress
    • budget guardrails
  5. Subscriptions, regions and model availability1 hr
    • regional model availability
    • quota requests
    • data residency

No. Module two builds the Azure foundation an AI workload needs — resource groups, storage, Key Vault, managed identity and Bicep — from nothing. What you do need is working Python and an understanding of what a REST API is.
